The ERM online certificate provides opportunities for several populations: private and public sector workers in education and other social science fields who want to upgrade their research skills, graduate students from education and other fields who want training in research methods, and those individuals desiring to pursue a shorter and focused course of study in educational research.





    • Master of Education in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics and Assessment  The MEd in MESA online program provides an opportunity for domestic and international students with a bachelor's degree from any social, behavioral or health-science field to obtain a MEd in MESA. The MEd in MESA online program provides rigorous training in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and addresses the current industry-wide shortage of individuals capable of functioning effectively in educational research and other social science research settings. The MEd in MESA online program is designed for several student populations: students who want to acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed for entry-level positions in academic institutions, state and federal agencies, school districts, and the testing and evaluation industry (e.g., licensure and certification boards, private and not-for-profit testing organizations); students who eventually wish to pursue doctoral studies in a MESA area; and PhD students in education and other fields who want to increase their research skills and enhance their career opportunities by simultaneously enrolling in the MEd in MESA online program.

The UIC Online Bioinformatics Program focuses on preparing students for successful industry and research careers in bioinformatics. Utilizing distance learning and an accredited curriculum, the UIC program provides graduates with the skills to become successful Bioinformatics specialists and researchers.

    • Electromagnetics Technology Certificate  Designed to aid professional engineering graduates update their skills. Students will learn about static and quasi-static fields, electrostatic discharge and polarization.

    • Engineering Law and Management Certificate  The Engineering Law and Management Campus Certificate enhances knowledge of legal principles affecting the engineering profession and intellectual property laws. Topics include basic contract, tort principles and environmental law.

    • Master of Engineering  The UIC College of Engineering offers a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree program which is completed entirely on the Internet. The MEng is a professional degree based exclusively on course work, without a research component (no project or thesis) and without departmental affiliation. The program is administered directly by the UIC College of Engineering and is fully approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

    • Wireless Communications Technology Certificate  Courses in the Wireless Communications Technology Campus Certificate cover a range of topics from radio technology fundamentals to propagation models to the generic wireless mobile network. Topics addressed also include data communications, broadband and wireless mobile multimedia networks among others.

The focus includes organizational behavior, human resources, fiscal management, leadership and managerial functions of the nurse manager.

    • Advanced Practice Cardiometabolic Campus Certificate  The purpose of the Advanced Practice Cardiometabolic Nursing Campus Certificate is to prepare advanced practice nurses (APNs) with in-depth knowledge of chronic, non-communicable cardiometabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, stroke, and cardiovascular disease.

    • Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse Certificate  The Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse Certificate Program is a graduate program offered by the UIC College of Nursing. It has been developed to educate and prepare advanced practice nurses to assist victims of all ages and help their families deal with the physical, psychological and legal implications of violent crimes in urban, rural and medically underserved areas. This program will be highly individualized and clinically focused in order to provide the student hands-on, comprehensive, culturally appropriate and evidence-based care. Our nurses will be able to assist patients who are victims of violent crimes.

    • Advanced Practice Palliative Care Certificate  The Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nursing Campus Certificate is sponsored by the UIC College of Nursing and has been developed to educate nurses to better meet the needs of caring for patients who are seriously ill and dying and who require end-of-life and palliative care treatment. It is grounded in a holistic perspective that recognizes that the individual is part of a family, a community and a society.

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing - RN Completion  Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Completion Program for RNS -- The College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, through its partnership with The Global Campus, now offers an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Completion Program designed for licensed RNs.

    • Master of Science in Nursing  UIC’s Master of Science (MS) degree in nursing builds upon your skills and education to transform you into a highly skilled, competent advanced practice nurse (APN), a nurse leader in administration or a community leader.

    • School Nurse Certificate  The School Nurse Certificate program focuses on health care management for school-aged children and is designed to broaden, refine and strengthen the nurse’s ability to implement the nursing process in response to the diverse needs of children in the school community.

    • Advanced Community Public Health Practice Certificate  The certificate program builds skills and competency in identifying and addressing community health needs and priorities. The Advanced Community Public Health Practice Campus Certificate is designed to serve specific learner needs, targeting graduate and professional students in the other health professions and social sciences.

    • Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate  The certificate program builds skills and competency in identifying and addressing community health needs and priorities. The Basic Community Public Health Practice Campus Certificate is designed to serve specific learner needs, targeting current public health workers.

    • Clinical Research Methods Certificate  The Clinical Research Methods (CRM) certificate provides clinicians, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists and physical therapists, with the methodologies needed to conduct clinical research in a multi-disciplinary research environment. The CRM online certificate program consists of five graduate-level courses

    • Emergency Management and Continuity Planning Certificate  The EMCP Certificate Program provides participants with interdisciplinary training with an emphasis on "real world" experience. The courses that comprise the certificate are designed and presented by leading experts in the field in order to help individuals develop and refine their emergency management and continuity planning skills.

    • Environmental Health Informatics Certificate  The Environmental Health Informatics (EHI) Certificate from the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Division, University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, provides a comprehensive background of the major Environmental Health Informatics themes such as data mining, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and quantitative risk management.

    • Illinois Public Health Preparedness Center  The Illinois Public Health Preparedness Center (IPHPC) exists to enhance the readiness of the public health workforce in responding to routine and urgent public health threats, including bioterrorism events.

    • Master of Public Health  The MPH is the basic professional degree that prepares graduates for public health practice, teaching and research. The program ensures the graduate has a general understanding of the field of public health and competence in a specific area of the students’ choice.

      Students may choose from four divisions within the School:


    • Master of Public Health in Policy and Management  The Master of Public Health in Policy and Management is ideal for public health professionals with: at least three years of experience in public health programs or a graduate degree in a relevant field.



    • Master of Public Health in Public Health Informatics  The basic motivation for enrollment in a public health informatics program relates to the fundamental role that information gathering, analysis and dissemination now play in health care delivery and public health. The key role of health surveillance and analysis systems in public health investigations requires that public health professionals have not only an understanding of core public health principles but also the design and use of information systems. Business management and information management degrees alone do not provide the professional with knowledge of the principles and analytical tools of public health that are needed to direct the development of public health related information systems.

    • Public Health Informatics Certificate  The Public Health Informatics Campus Certificate involves a 5-unit course of study based on four public health information management courses and an integrative paper on a topic in health informatics.

    • Public Health Management Certificate  The Campus Certificate in Public Health Management targets the needs of the public health practitioners who work in the highly differentiated scope of organizations and institutions which address public health issues.
