Overview
This course observes various markets to understand the trends and better real estate investment skills. By using up-to-date figures, this course familiarizes participants with the latest market movements to provide better decision making skills in the real estate market.
Who Should Register for Real Estate Development and Investment?
This course is beneficial to appraisers, business analysts, entrepreneurs, project managers, real estate agents and brokers and professionals from many other fields.
Objectives
This course provides a basic method for studying the financial feasibility of real estate developments then introduces several case studies from the Chicago area. Cases include office, commercial, residential and mixed use developments. Both successful and unsuccessful developments are examined. Real estate investment is compared to real estate development.
Topics include:
* Development planning
* Development financing and financial feasibility
* Basic development pro forma
* Case studies in Chicago: housing, commercial and Block 37
* Investment cases
Continuing Education Credit Information
An optional exam is offered at the end of Real Estate Development. Participants with an Illinois real estate broker or salesperson license can earn 6 hours of continuing education elective credit towards the renewal of his/her license. Participants must earn at least a 70% or higher on the exam to earn continuing education elective credits. Passing scores are reported directly to the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation.
