Program InformationAdvanced Practice Cardiometabolic Campus CertificateDramatic increases in diabetes and obesity in the U.S. have contributed to an increase in cardiometabolic disorders and to related morbidity and mortality (American Diabetes Association Web site [ADA], 2006). Increased skills in prevention and management measures are urgently needed for these diseases. The courses in this certificate will add depth and breadth to the knowledge and skills already attained by nurses in the course of their advanced practice nursing education programs. Further, the courses in this certificate will provide in-depth preparation for nurse practitioners who are managing severe complications of these metabolic diseases for adults in acute and non-acute settings. |
